I nestled her close. It was day 143 and the flesh began to peel away from the muscle tissue. I knew it would be only a matter of time before she became completely unrecognizable; but I was determined to hold her that was promise. It was beneath the oak tree behind our house she had asked me that if she died first if I would hold her until she became dust. That promise I intend to keep.
